THE NEST - DEMENTIA UNIT

As owner of the Nest Dementia Unit, I took over management control of a unit that was in liquidation and was experiencing many challenges at the time of transfer. Whilst we were focused on stabilising the business aspects, I realised the impact of not only all nursing and support staff but more importantly the need to ensure all legal compliance for the safety and security of our residents. As a result, the Board of SBLS, the owners of the Nest, made a decision to rather outsource the nursing and supporting functions to a subject matter expert to allow us to focus on other core aspects of the business to ensure future sustainability and continued satisfactory occupancy levels that was posing a continuous threat to the business.
After carefully scrutinizing many providers, we settled on Vizual Healthcare who was then tasked with the outsourcing of all Nursing, Catering, Cleaning, Laundry, Security and Maintenance staff. This in effect outsourced all The Nest employees to Vizual Healthcare. The initial transition to Vizual Healthcare was seemless and their subsequent management of all nursing and nursing related support services have been impeccable. Most importantly they share our need for compliance and our vision that the patient always comes first. They have made various improvements to service that would not have always been possible whilst not being outsourced and the value add of what we perceive as a true partnership has benefited all concerned.
